2019 Ohio USSSA GSL Update

As the calendar is officially flipped to 2019, we have a lot of information to share with you.

As a state, we are officially opened for business as of today January 3, 2019.

As of today, the 2019 sanction season is open and teams can sanction online. The national office’s IT department is finishing some new functionality and testing to be able to open up the “player add” feature for managers. If you get a message stating that the player add section will be open soon, that is expected. By this time next week, all will be operational.

Any team that wishes to receive off season feedback on where they will be classed must do the following:
Sanction online and pay the $55 fee.
Email your roster to either Rick or Todd (depending on your location)
Email must be submitted before Jan 18
If its after Jan 18, your entire roster must be online in order for the State to review and approve

We have our National Convention in November and our State Convention in January. This year, our state is gathering on the weekend of Jan 11-13. While this is a closed meeting for directors and UIC’s for 2019, we are looking into a venue/location for 2020 that will allow us to have an open meeting for managers to attend. In lieu of that for 2019, we are asking that anyone who wishes to have a question answered or a topic discussed, to please submit these to before Jan 10. All relevant questions will be answered/discussed during our meetings and the transcript of those discussions will be posted for public view.

Below are all appeal form links

2019 Player appeal form –
Please keep in mind, all appeals must be emailed to the state director and must include the team you are going to play with in 2019. If you were an NCC bump from 2017 or 2018, your appeal will be held until your new team has fully placed their roster online.

2019 Team State appeal form –
Teams wishing to be considered for an “offseason” appeal, must do so between Jan 10 and Feb 15. These are teams that competed in 2018 at a certain playing classification and wish to drop down due to poor results in the preceeding season. Team eligible for offseason appeals must be retaining atleast 8 players from their 2018 roster and must only be adding new players who are ranked at the new class or lower only. ***Any team that was a bump is not eligible for this appeal.

We will have a ton more info to distribute in the next two weeks!
