Congrats on winning the Winners Bracket at Expressway. I don't see anyone double dipping them but I have been wrong before.

My observations from yesterday(since i'm a softball groupie who goes to the park to watch when i'm not playing)...

Extreme - Typical Start. Had to score 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th just to win their first game... These guys are one of the most consistent teams in the city... Consistently good... I went back to watch the championship game last night and they are a better hitting team than last year. Defense is still good, but the bats look to be better this year. Chris Hilton is one of the most underated players in the game, regardless of class.. Schiavone and I had that same conversation about him at the park yesterday...

Cousin Construction - Most of the Mudhens from previous years, minus Doug, Thompson and Rovencamp... Watched some of their first game and it took them a little time to figure out the no home run thing... Once they did, they put on a hit parade to win 8 in a row if I'm correct... Was close to forcing an if-game until Extreme put together a couple of big innings in the 6th and 7th innings... These guys will put up a lot of runs every weekend...

Dirty Birds - Shocker... They hit lots of home runs and fight :) I watched them lose their first game of the day 6 - 4 because they hit like 7 home runs for outs... I like the makeup of the team and i think they have great chemistry, but they gotta figure out how to hit less homers or move up... I left for a while in the late afternoon, but i heard that thier was a little spatting going on between the Birds and Cousin Construction?

Stiffler - They totally confused me. After their NIT win last week and putting up 31 in the championship game, I thought they would be tough to stop. First game out and they put up 18 runs in the first 2 innings and cruise to an easy win, scoring twenty something runs. After seeing that, i thought the rest of the field was in for a world of hurt. Well, they come back the very next game and score 1 run the entire game... Softball, gotta love it... The Dirty Birds sent them home in an entertaining game...

Trailblazers - Speaking from experience, I can tell you that going 0-2 in an NIT and losing both games by 1 run may be about the worst softball experience one can have... I watched both of their games and one bad inning in each game cost them victories. They've got veteran leadership, but it was obvious that some of the younger talent need more experience in real-game situations... They'll figure it out, too much talent to stay down...

Didn't get to see the Nasty Boys or Kentucky's Finest play, but obviously they did ok, finishing 3rd and 4th...

Just my two cents...

To add to the Stiffler game, Ky Finest held them to 1 run, It was a great defensive game. We turned I think 5 double plays on them. They turned 2-3 on us. The final score was 5-1 I think. Extreme beat us because we ran ourselves out of innings and they hit well and took advantage of it. They ran themselves out of 2 innings at home.. But We still didn't hit.
We beat Tripple L out of columbus who was a good team coming from 8-1 in the bottom of the 6th to win 9-8 in the 7th. Cousins construction has a good team, I would say better than Franchise Last year. Sun had a MAJOR factor in this game, Both teams took advantage of it. They just came out on top to put us out 19-18.
Congrats to everyone who played up at Expressway. Great competition through out!! Great Tourney for Ky Finest.. 1st big one with the New team!!

You hit it pretty much on the head Craig . Linneman could use you as a reporter for his paper . Since we went 0-2 in back to back games I stayed to watch the Stiffler - Ky Finest , Extreme - Big O games and your assessments on these teams (Mine included) were dead on . Cousin Construction will be a very good D team if they can keep it in the park . I didn't see the Dirty Birds (I heard that in their 1st loss that they hit 5 or 6 hr for outs) but they beat a couple of very good teams in Stiffler and Ice . Their game against Cousin Construction sounds like they may have lost their cool .
