the blue and red is the older one but i think the older one is a better bat. I also have the red and black but it is cracked on the taper.

The Blue and Red is very durable. I bought mine when they first came out used it the whole year, many other guys on my team used it too. I used it this year in the snowball tournament at Township thinking if it busts I got my money's worth and ended up using it this entire season as well and it is still in perfect shape with insane pop.

I got rid of an original Synergy + to get it and like it more, and I really liked the +. Solid bat, you don't have to hit the ball in a small zone to get the pop off it.

Check the serial # on the bat. If it starts with a 4, this batch has had alot of problems with cracking on the handle or taper. Mine did the same thing with 20 swings in warm weather. Mine was a return and i explained it to them and they replaced it anyway. This is something to check into. I love the mayhem line of bats, but ever since they merged with miken i've seen alot more problems. Easton is the bat that impresses me these days.

none of the re-issues have had any taper problems... I think that was a brief manufacturing flaw...
