Cincysoftball.com is the online extension of newspaper called The Cincinnati Softball News. Our staff includes softball players from several eras, all from Cincinnati. They include:
Andy Larkins has been around softball in Cincinnati since 1990 as both a player and manager with teams like EAP, Moose Mallones, Mac’s Pack and of course Cincysoftball. Inspired by his technology background and frustration in getting information as a manager, Andy saw the opportunity to bring Cincinnati Softball to the web. In 2003, he struck a partnership with Mark Linnemann, the publisher of the Cincinnati softball news and that summer, took the Cincinnati Metro, one of the nation’s largest tournaments brackets to the web for the first time ever cementing our future as Cincinnati’s # 1 softball website. As of March of 2009, the site receives nearly 100,000 visits per month.
An avid softball player in the seventies, Mark saw a copy of “Southern Softball,” a softball newspaper published in Tennessee, at the 1976 Ohio Valley Classic softball tournament at Ross Park in St. Bernard. He immediately envisioned a softball newspaper for Greater Cincinnati, and in November of that year launched Cincinnati Softball News. It is now the oldest continuously published softball newspaper in the country. Through the cooperation of about twenty league operators, Cincinnati Softball News is mailed to over 2,500 area team managers each month.
Steve has been a well known player in the Cincinnati area for over the last decade. Known for his long standing tenure with Total Package Express, Steve joined EAP, one of Cincinnati’s top teams in 2008. Steve’s other talent is that he is an exceptional graphic artist and through that, he has helped cincysoftball.com stay looking great.
Tom joined the site in 2009 helping us transition to the version of the site we launched in the late spring of 2009. Tom is a great programmer that shares in the vision of making cincysoftball.com the best softball site on the web.
