Nasty Noles_Chamberlain May 2015 Kenton LakesNasty Noles/Chamberlain won the WSL D Division among a nine team field May 16-17, 2015 by beating Team Jawn in the “if”game with an overall record of 4-1.  Nasty Noles/Chamberlain Coach/Manager Don Bradley said that plenty of offense and solid defense were the keys to winning the tournament.  Bradley noted that shortstop Johnathan Roberts and middle infielder Ryan Mullins turned several double plays along with great tandem pitching between Brandon Riley, Roger Riley and Tyler Kincaid.  We had many hitting leaders that weekend, 10 of our 20 man roster really contributed said Bradley (Tyler Kincaid, Brady Highchew, Ryan Mullins, Johnathan Roberts, Brad Krohman, Griffin Lessley, Bret Lessley, Jamie Prince, John Franklin and Zach Nelson).

Bradley said winning their first game against WSL D power Southern Comfort was a big win getting past them 17-10.  I have a lot of respect for Team Jawn said Bradley, as Team Jawn lost their first game of the tournament and battled thru the loser’s bracket to get to the finals and then forced and “if” game against us.

The Bat Wars victory marks the fourth tournament win for Nasty Noles/Chamberlain this season. The winners received four condominiums for four nights to the WSL World Championships in Panama City Beach, Florida in September.

GSOD (aka Greatest Show on Dirt) won the WSL E Division among a nine team field May 16-17, 2015 at Kenton Lakes with an overall record of 4-1.  Showtime forced an “if” game but fell short 12-11 after a controversial obstruction call ended the game on a double play attempt by GSOD.

GSOD Coach Manager Michael Rose said pitcher Danny Loveless was instrumental throughout the tournament as Loveless kept GSOD opponents under ten runs during all their games.  Coupled with Loveless nice pitching performance under the WSL no fake rule, Rose said Zach Hayes leadership on defense was another key to a great team performance.GSOD Bat Wars Kenton Lakes May 2015

GSOD hitting leaders consisted of Zach Hayes (737), Frank Isadore (684), Brian Saylor (571), Charlie Riley (526) and Danny Loveless (500).  Defensively GSOD was led by the performances of Jeffery Spears, Zach Hayes, Elvin Ward, Charlie Riley and Danny Loveless.

This was GSOD first tournament win of the 2015 season, for their winning efforts GSOD was award a paid world berth to the WSL World Championships in Panama City Beach, Florida in September along with two condominiums for three nights.  The prize package is a big financial gain for us said Rose, having the condominiums paid for helps a lot.

Rose said he would like to thank Bill Chard, Toby Gilliam, and Bill Martz for having the fields in great shape after the intermittent rain delays during the tournament and for always running great WSL events.

Both teams next tournament is the annual City Slam event at MidAmerica Ballyard.
